D & A Policy
We shall strive to maintain a safe and healthy working environment free from the unauthorized use of drugs and alcohol. This policy shall all times take into consideration the “Guidelines for the Control of Drugs and Alcohol Onboard Ship”, issued by OCIMF.

The possession of illegal drugs, or the use, distribution or sale of unlawful or un- prescribed substances is strictly prohibited onboard. Violators shall be subjected to immediate disposal.

Any officer or rating using prescription or non-prescription drugs must declare details of the said drugs to the master upon joining the ship.

In accordance with the Industry and USCG standards, the Company adopts the maximum Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) for anyone on board company vessels: as 40 mg/100millilitres of blood (0.04%) at any time. BAC of 0.04% or above shall be considered as alcohol impairment.

All officers and ratings will observe the alcohol abstinence for at least 4 hours prior taking over watch keeping duties or any scheduled shipboard duties.

No person shall be allowed to perform a watch or engage in other duties whist under the influence of alcohol, which is understood to mean any reading greater than 0.0% BAC on alcometer.

There shall be screening of Drug and Alcohol levels for all officers and rating, joining our vessels at the time of their employment. Additionally officers and ratings may be subjected to random testing of drugs and alcohol at any time on board the ship.

Non-compliance to this policy by any officer or rating shall result in disciplinary action against the individual which may include dismissal.

The company shall cooperate with all recognized authorities to ensure our ships or personnel are not involved in the consumption of any drug or in the trade of any illegal substance.
